San Diego - a little bit about our City and what we've done for San Diego.
Welcome to San Diego, California's second largest city. Where blue skies keep watch on 70 miles of beaches and a gentle Mediterranean climate begs for a day of everything and nothing. Bordered by Mexico, the Pacific Ocean, the Anza-Borrego Desert and the Laguna Mountains, San Diego county's 4,200 square miles offer immense options for business and pleasure.
With its great weather, miles of sandy beaches, and major attractions, San Diego is known worldwide as one of the best tourist destinations. It's here where the Amigo Bros. has produced the world's largest beach party, and the world's largest Over-The-Line tournament.
Relax, soak in San Diego. Let your surroundings dictate a new appreciation for all the good things San Diego has to offer. From thrilling ocean adventures to chilled-out siestas under the shadow of a palm tree, your San Diego vacation will teach you a new way of life - full of fun, relaxation and beauty.
The Gaslamp Quarter is Southern California's premier dining, shopping and entertainment district, where you'll find a truly eclectic blend of food, fun and culture all within one of San Diego's most historic areas. Also, don't miss the Old Town area for a great group of shops and restaurants. The Amigo Bros. produced a two-day Italian Festival called "Festa Bella". It was an event honoring all the provinces in Italy and featured fine Italian cuisine and Hollywood entertainment.
At the world-famous San Diego Zoo, you will see some of the world's rarest wildlife including giant pandas (and Hua Mei, the only panda cub in the U.S.), and koalas. A visit to the San Diego Wild Animal Park, about 30 minutes away, is like a safari to many of the world's most exotic places. The Temecula Wine Country is only about 50 minutes away.
World-renowned Balboa Park is home to fifteen museums, various arts and international culture associations, as well as the San Diego Zoo, making it one of the nation's largest cultural and entertainment complexes. The Amigo Bros. produced the largest day-time event in the history of the Park. It was called "San Diego Around-The-World". It drew almost 70,000 persons. It made the Mayor of San Diego, who asked us to put the event on, very, very happy! And don't miss the two San Diego Missions within San Diego's city limits whereby you can discover our true Spanish roots; one in Presidio Park and the other being the first, and oldest Mission in California, off Friars Road in Mission Valley.
Sea World San Diego: To entertain, amaze and educate, creating memories that last a lifetime. Sea World has hosted more than 100 million guests since opening in 1964. The Amigo Bros. has produced a nine-day event with three stages, and over 100 entertainers at Sea World in 2004. It was a smashing success. Also, for the kids....don't miss our latest amusement park attraction at Legoland about 20 minutes away.
The Mexico Border is only 20 minutes away, where you can visit the eclectic shops and restaurants of Tijuana. Take the Trolley there and walk across the border, if you'd like! Don't forget your passport! We have produced long weekend athletic events and one-day excursions to Mexico such as Lobsterfeast and Winetasting. We provide the buses with English speaking drivers - Leave the driving to us! We have even taken politicians across the Border for political events!
And the San Diego Sports Arena, Qualcomm Stadium and Petco Park hosts concerts, sporting events, and other entertainment. Welcome to San Diego!
